Nutrition Services
Idlewyld Manor provides three nutritious, home style-cooked meals daily to residents, with the main meal at noon. There is a dining room on each Home Area with dietary staff serving meals and nursing staff to provide assistance and monitoring for safety. Seating is assigned according to appropriateness of individuals. You may eat seated in your wheelchair if you are unable to walk.
A five-week menu cycle offers you a variety of nourishing foods. Menus are also changed according to the seasons and for special theme days. Two choices of main entrée are always available. Menu boards in the resident wings will provide you with information on the day’s features.
If you have an appointment which conflicts with mealtime, you may wish to take advantage of ?early meals" (dinner: 11:30 a.m., supper: 4:30 p.m.)
Guests are welcome to purchase meals, and to dine with you at the “early meal" times. Meal tickets for guests may be purchased from the receptionist (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.) in advance, or at the time of the meal. Meal tickets can be purchased from dietary staff on weekends or statutory holidays.
