Physiotherapy
Idlewyld Manor contracts the services of a Registered Physiotherapist. Residents who require physiotherapy need to be referred by their Doctor. The Physiotherapist visits the Manor on a regular basis every week to consult and assess. He/she will recommend specific treatments and exercises to improve the mobility and independence of a resident. These treatments are carried out by a qualified Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA). The Physiotherapist will evaluate the progress and effectiveness of the treatment and will discharge the resident from the physiotherapy service when appropriate
Occupational Therapy
Idlewyld Manor contracts the services of a Registered Occupational Therapist through CCAC. The Occupational Therapist visits the Manor upon direct referral from a Doctor or Registered Nurse. Occupational Therapists are especially helpful in assessing seating problems for many residents, and making recommendations.
Social Work
Idlewyld Manor benefits from the services of a qualified Social Worker through CCAC. The Social Worker is available to consult with all new residents, upon the Doctor or Nurse's referral.
